Oct 27, 2023 · WCW in late 1999 and 2000 tried to match the WWF in mature content. They hired Russo and tried to push the envelope and it backfired. WCW was what I was consider to be fairly family friendly till 1999. The nWo was edgy and cool but it was still pretty classic wrestling. They had a product people wanted to see and should have stuck with that.

Jul 27, 2023 · Bischoff has since said that he didn’t like the logo either, but they sank so much money into redesigning that they felt they had to go through with it. Horrendous decision. The classic block WCW letters were amazing along with the big metal stage. The spaceship logo and entrance ramp are synonymous with the company going into its nosedive.

I’m torn on this one. I loved the original Nitro set. I also loved that 2000-era one with the video screen on top of the trussing. Unfortunately, it wasn’t around for that long, as WCW moved to using the same floor-level, giant video screen set for literally everything: Nitro, Thunder, and pay-per-views.
