  1. Yinxu, meaning the ruins of Yin, is the remnants of the capital (called Yin) of the late Shang Dynasty (1600 BC ~ 1046 BC) located in Anyang, Henan Province. It is one of the greatest archeological discovery in China. A large number of royal tombs, palaces, prototypes of Chinese architecture have been unearthed here.

In 1955, the discovery of a high rammed–earth city wall proved that it is the capital ruins of Shang Dynasty. In 1961, Shang Dynasty City Ruins was included into the lists of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.

    Shang Dynasty Ruins are situated in the downtown of Zhengzhou City, and cover an area of 25 square kilometers. In 1955, a wall with its girth of seven meters was found in the center of the ruins. It was then proved to have existed at the beginning of the Shang Dynasty, earlier than Yin Dynasty Ruins in Anyang.
