Dec 6, 2020 · Instead of ordering the parts for the 12-pin socket, AND for the ATX PCI-E 6-pin and 8-pin sockets, they can just bulk order the 12-pin. That and they don't need the R&D to redesign a PCB for the RTX 3060 Ti. Just use the same PCB layout as the RTX 3070.

Dec 8, 2021 · Each 8-pin cable is rated for 150W and each 6-pin is rated for 75W. So, 6+8+pcie port is more than enough for the 3060. I mean, if you are going to buy a single cord with 2x8-pin, then you might as well use what you have.
