The Osage Nation (/ ˈ oʊ s eɪ dʒ / OH-sayj) (Osage: 𐓁𐒻 𐓂𐒼𐒰𐓇𐒼𐒰͘ , romanized: Ni Okašką, lit. 'People of the Middle Waters') is a Midwestern American tribe of the Great Plains.
In 1957, this seal was created and chosen to be the official symbol for the Osage Nation. It was designed by Mr. Romaine Shackelford of Pawhuska, Oklahoma. The Osage Seal appears on official publications of the Osage Nation, and can be used only with special permission.
