Memtest64 lets you test your memory without having to pull out an MS-DOS boot disk. The utility loads your physical memory with test-patterns, and can push other applications into the pagefile to free up memory for testing. Apr 20, 2017 · Memtest86 runs under DOS so that it can test virtually all of your memory. Despite the name it also is 64-bit and handles memory above 4GB just fine. This MemTest64 program can't test memory that is in use, but you don't have to reboot to run it. As was said above it is more for testing an overclock than for diagnosing RAM issues.

Aug 31, 2014 · Prime 95 is a good stress test if you run the torture test/blend setting. But make sure you have good cooling on the processor or it will overheat. Memtest86 will check just the ram but does not heat things up like Prime 95. But you need to run at least 7 passes or overnight. OCCT is another good stability test.

Dec 7, 2021 · Also, like to run y-cruncher because it's incredibly unforgiving on unstable ram. I've had a profile pass extreme1 and absolut TM5 configs and BSOD with y-cruncher. It's a good tool for checking if lowering a timing is good or not. I think you have been linked to the guide, which has a y-cruncher stress test config.

Long story short, the issue wasn't the GPU but it was the RAM overheating because of the new much more powerful GPU (3090, vs old rx480 blower model), which was blowing the hot air directly to the memory. Not even a well ventilated case helped (Fractal design meshify 2). Adding a fan blowing air directly at the memory helped.

May 22, 2023 · Sure, for a daily use overclock profile i'd aim for at least 24hrs per sitting of prime 95 (blend for CPU&RAM or large FFT for RAM/FCLK). I would also run extra tests like OCCT memory SSE/AVX2 1hr each first as a quick 'litmus test', & Core Cycler last (run for as long as possible) for peace of mind, but that's me.

Aug 27, 2019 · For record, you don't necessarily "stress" RAM - more use it to help find if there are actual faults with it. Usually stress testing is for testing the stability of overclocks for example. Memtest isn't a benchmark or stress tester, but a fault finder. IMO - there is no real reason to extensively test RAM unless you are having a problem.

Jun 2, 2022 · These are complementary, you should run more than one. What some will pass, others might fail. Some can get things hot, especially some of the tests available in y-cruncher, but it is sensitive to memory clocking so you can use its bench tests to measure improvement or not. I mostly use TM5 with the anta777 Absolut configuration, Karhu and GSAT.
