Feb 19, 2009 · Well, I found out what the material is for the airbox valve. It is the T-8071 fiberglass mesh, Silicone Engine Baffle material. It's manufactured by Brown Aircraft in Florida. The T-8071 has a temperature window of -60F to +550F degrees. It is available in a 1/8th in. thick pebbled finish or 3/32nd in. smooth.

Jan 14, 2024 · So I have the recenlty rebuilt airbox waiting to be sold when I complete the big project, which is a zero time northpoint xp-4 70-50, seaplanes west mount, new selkirk cowling, and new carb and newer style airbox. Once I'm back in the air, I'll resell all my like-new parts - rebuilt airbox and knisely exhaust with about 50 hours on it.

Dec 13, 2013 · First, YES you do want to get the oil temp up to at least 170-180 deg F, on every flight if at all possible. Depending on your ambient temps, you may have to cover the entire cooler or just part. Start out covering half the cooler (duct tape works fine, and is cheap) and increase coverage or decrease as appropriate.

But really, a few hundred for Tanis/Reiff to really get your engine heat soaked safely is hard to beat. TradeCraft offline.
