Oct 28, 2011 · As to the tail she appears to be a young bird and with many young birds wings are clipped clipped soon after they try to fly. With the wings clipped young birds tend to be clumsy and will break their tail feathers trying to get up on perches and climb the cage bars. As to the tail feathers as she molts they will be replaced with new feathers.

May 27, 2013 · If clipped, I wouldn't pull the tail feathers. Any new ones that grow in will just get broken again. I made this mistake with Pankakes he broke three sets of tail feathers before I finally told the hubby to leave his tail alone and let them fall out with a molt. It depends on the bird how long it'll take the feathers to fall out.

Jul 31, 2009 · he has 3 remaining feathers on his backside but he finds it hard to fly im beginning think he doesn't wanna come out of the cage cos of that reason, but he has to come out cos I think he's a fat *** bird, he's so huge compared to Sandy I maybe wrong but I do think he's a big boy lol I hope his feathers come back soon though poor little man lol

May 1, 2011 · The other bird shows the tail of a pearl. if female the tail will always be marked the same,, and if a male all the feathers will eventually be a solid dark color. Neither of the tails shown is an indication of pied.

Jul 26, 2013 · For some reason, he has no tail feathers. From what his new owner tells me, his wing and tail feathers do not grow back. His tail feathers would break or just fall off. She tells me that there is no blood on the end of the shafts. He has gone through his first molt recently and is a happy bird, and besides this feather problem, seems healthy.

All the feathers were clean except one of them was a blood feather (but im guessing did not have alot of blood).

Or when the bird is out of the cage that it is not startted and take of flapping and fall on it's tail and break the new pinfeathers coming in. I took your pix and added some comes.
