There are more than 50 other suppliers which combine 183.9 Mt/a or 47.6% of the capacity, which shows that the cement industry in Africa is still very fragmented.

Sep 13, 2023 · Construction has started on a major cement plant in Uganda in Moroto area, Karamoja region. The plant will have an output of 6000 tons per day. The factory is being set up by West International Holding Limited, a subsidiary of China West Cement Limited which has invested over 300 million USD in the region that will produce both cement and clinker.
