With 2023 soon coming to an end, it got me reflecting back on the year overall for edm. Specifically, what do people think are the top 3 edm songs (including all genres and subgenres) of 2023? I’m talking the absolute best of the best. The most influential. The OBJECTIVELY best songs. The most well produced.

Seems like there's a big difference in which EDM artists are the most popular in the "mainstream" versus in the "community." I feel like EDM fans are unique in that we tend to listen to full sets/live shows rather than singles (I hardly ever actually listen to Worlds or Ascend on Spotify but the live streams from Worlds Second Sky and Ascend ...

seriously this, so many synths in those early edm-leaning pop songs sound like a straight up factory preset assortment. All those pad chords with slow modulation and "saw lead #6"-ass sounding mono synths. And the supersaws are always so incredibly dry, like there's literally nothing on them.
