As someone who has a 4090 pc plugged into a 4k/120 oled tv, idk if a gpu with 4x will have any benefit until mainstream 4k/240 tvs exist... and if the 50 series even supports hdmi 2.2 or 2.1b or idk what is needed lol.

Dec 13, 2024 · I have to believe that Nvidia gave the AIBs misleading thermal information during development of the 4000 series, because every cooling solution was overdesigned at launch. The 12VHPWR debacle probably wouldn't have been as bad if people weren't straining to squeeze the cables coming off the side of those extra-wide cards into dual chamber cases.

Dec 13, 2024 · an alternative interpretation could be that Nvidia understands some half sensible pricing is needed so they have the xx60-80, and then the xx90 is the halo device from a performance point of view that enough people will buy and be used for benchmarking and developers to showcase their games etc. Its not a remotely mainstream card at that pricepoint
