The police on Saturday said that the decomposed bodies of a 46-year-old man and his four daughters, two of them differently-abled, have been found in their rented accommodation in southwest Delhi`s Vasant Kunj area,

Delhi Police are investigating the deaths of a man and his four daughters in Vasant Kunj, examining potential links to the 2018 Burari suicide case. The family had been isolated since the mother's death last year.

The five bodies, found on Friday afternoon, did not have any injury marks. However, the daughters had a red thread tied around their waists and necks.

A man and his four daughters were found dead in Vasant Kunj's Rangpuri village in the national capital, police said on Saturday (September 28). The four had allegedly consumed poison and died by suicide.

Hira Lal, 50, was found dead in his rented home along with his four daughters. When the police recovered the bodies of the daughters, they all had kalawa tied around their neck, waist and wrist.

Officials reported that concerns arose when a red thread was discovered tied around the waist, hands, and necks of the four daughters. Additionally, a box of sweets was found at the scene.

In the Burari incident, the 11 victims were discovered blindfolded, with their mouths taped shut, and hanging in their home. The case shook the nation as evidence suggested the family had followed rituals for several days before their deaths, spurred by delusions of supernatural salvation.
