When Team Sweden assistant GM Patric Hornqvist called Rickard Rakell back in December to let him know he didn’t make their initial roster for the 4 Nations Face-Off, of course, he was disappointed. But the forward didn’t let it affect his play in the slightest.

Perhaps it is a bad thing for the Pittsburgh Penguins, but a wrong has been righted. Penguins winger Rickard Rakell has been named a late addition to Team Sweden for the coming Four Nations Face-Off, which begins in Montreal next week. Rakell is replacing injured Vegas Golden Knights forward William Karlsson.

There were many clamoring for the Penguins winger to be named to Sweden's roster for the upcoming 4 Nations Face-Off. While he was left off the team's initial group, Rakell is now set to represent his home country as an injury replacement.
