The winter storm halted travel for thousands of passengers Monday as airlines canceled and delayed flights. Several flights in and out of KC were affected.

A powerful winter storm is wreaking havoc across much of the country. Those troubles are extending into eastern Iowa with flight cancellations and delays. There have been two flights canceled out of the Cedar Rapids airport Monday morning.

A winter storm is leading to thousands of flight disruptions across the U.S., from Kansas City, Missouri, to Washington, D.C.

“Due to rapid ice accumulation, the airfield at Kansas City International Airport (MCI) is currently closed to flight operations,” the airport previously said on X. The flight delays impact included the Kansas City Chiefs, whose flight to Denver for Sunday’s game against the Broncos was delayed.
