Apple said Wednesday its virtual personal assistant Siri protects users data privacy on their devices and does not send user information to marketers.

Apple clarified on Wednesday that it has never sold the data collected by its Siri voice assistant or used it to create marketing profiles, just days after settling a case in which it faced such accusations.

A suit said unintentional Siri sessions were recorded and sold to advertisers. Apple denied that but agreed to a settlement you might be able to share in.

Customers say conversations were captured by Siri without their consent and accused Apple of violating their privacy by sharing those recordings.

Apple has affirmed its Siri privacy policies following a lawsuit settlement that revived rumors that the voice assistant was spying on users. The spokesperson stated that "Apple settled this case to avoid additional litigation so we can move forward from concerns about third-party grading that we already addressed in 2019."

Apple has agreed to pay $95 million in a class-action settlement alleging that private Siri conversations were inadvertently recorded and listened to by third-party contractors.
