Florida's attorney general said Tuesday that a criminal investigation has been opened into self-described misogynist influencer Andrew Tate and his brother, who flew to the southern US state last week from Romania,

Andrew Tate, a self-proclaimed misogynist who has become a cause célèbre on the American right, and his brother were allowed to leave Romania where they face charges including rape and human trafficking,

Romania allowed the travel after pressure from Trump officials, a person familiar with the case said. The brothers, vocal Trump supporters, were detained in 2022.
