Indian benchmark indices Nifty 50 and Sensex ended the previous trade session flat after hitting fresh record highs. Nifty 50 ended at 25,940.40, while Sensex ended at 84,914.04. Overnight, Wall Street indices Dow Jones and S&P 500 continued to post record highs.

The Indian markets were muted at opening bell on Wednesday, as the momentum gained from China's stimulus measures looked to be fading.

With trading in the Asian market inconsistent, Gift Nifty is trading at a price reduction of about 25 points from Nifty Futures Tuesday finish, suggesting a weaker opening for the Indian market on.

Sensex hits 85,000 for the first time, Nifty nears 26,000-mark as markets reach all-time high

GIFT Nifty was trading up 53 points or 0.20% at 26,012, indicating a positive start for the domestic indices NSE Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex. The Asian markets were trading on a higher note on Tuesday morning following overnight gains in the US markets.

The S&P 500 eked out a slight gain in a subdued session while the Nasdaq fell on Monday, weighed down by a drop in technology stocks as investors assessed the likelihood of an upsized rate cut from the U.

Indian equity benchmark indices, BSE Sensex and Nifty50, dropped in opening trade on Wednesday. While BSE Sensex was trading above 84,700, Nifty50 was near 25,900.

That apart, a widely followed global stock index rose to a record high and copper prices hit their strongest level in 10 weeks on Tuesday after China unveiled stimulus measures to support its economy.

The trends on Gift Nifty also indicate a weak start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 25,925 level, a discount of nearly 20 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close.
