The intersection of Paradise Valley Road and Briarwood Road is in between Boone Elementary School and Bell Middle School, and the traffic engineering team recommends a near-side signal head facing northbound traffic and solar-powered flashing beacons with “SIGNAL AHEAD” facing east and westbound traffic on Paradise Valley Road.

The city of San Diego Monday pinpointed seven dangerous intersections and street sections for safety improvements as part of its annual High Crash Locations list.

City staff reviewed data from 2023 and found and evaluated seven locations where five or more crashes had occurred. The analysis also looked at intersections and street segments with the most injury crashes and crashes involving pedestrians.

Authorities have publicly identified six people killed in traffic crashes throughout the county over the first few days of 2025, four of them on New Year’s Day.
