A pair of storms pummeling the Pacific Northwest threaten flooding, avalanches and 'sting jets' – intense and destructive low-level winds.

Several state highways in Eastern Washington were flooded as an atmospheric river swept across the region Sunday, with the Washington State Department of Transportation shutting down some sections and advising travelers not to risk their safety by driving through them,

An atmospheric river is beginning to affect western portions of Washington and Oregon and continuing into Tuesday. This will bring the potential for urban and river flooding impacts. Hurricane Hunters are continuing reconnaissance missions into the storm.

A new round of heavy rain, gusty winds and high-elevation snow is striking the Pacific Northwest from Monday into Tuesday.
