Nintendo has taken the wraps off a Pro Controller to go along with the newly detailed Switch 2. It’s been upgraded with two new ‘GL’ and ‘GR’ buttons on the rear grips which can be used to remap other controls, a ‘C’ button to enable voice and video chats, and a 3.5mm audio jack along the bottom.

The only Switch 2 accessory I was concerned about was the new Switch 2 Pro controller, which is now priced at a whopping $80. I already have multiple Switch Pro controllers at home and would prefer not to have to buy a new version.

A brand-new Nintendo system means brand new Nintendo accessories, and the Switch 2 is no exception. Shown off during this morning’s Nintendo Switch 2 Direct,

Nintendo confirmed back in November 2024, two months before the company even unveiled the Nintendo Switch 2, that the new console would be backward-compatible with games for the original Nintendo Switch.
