Foxtrot, a Collie from Pet Haven of Minnesota, was named MVP (Most Valuable Puppy) of Puppy Bowl XXI on Sunday. Pet Haven celebrated Foxtrot’s achievement in a social media post, saying they were "BEYOND psyched" about the honor. "This Collie boy played hard, and it paid off!" the shelter wrote.

It’s game day in America — and not just for the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. There will be 131 canines taking the field for Animal Planet’s annual Puppy Bowl event, continuing a tradition of counterprogramming television’s biggest day with a bunch of good boys and girls.

Puppy Bowl XXI, which airs Sunday afternoon on Animal Planet and other channels (see tune-in information below), will feature 142 rescue dogs from 40 states in three hours of play. Teams Ruff and Fluff will vie for the Lombarky Trophy, their rosters including eight dogs from New Jersey.

The Puppy Bowl is not just for the puppies' enjoyment and viewers' entertainment but also promotes pet adoption by featuring rescue dogs.
