Jannik Sinner capped a perfect group stage at the ATP Finals with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Daniil Medvedev on Thursday which eliminated his Russian rival.

Italian world number one Jannik Sinner eased past Daniil Medvedev 6-3 6-4 in their final group match on Thursday, leaving Taylor Fritz to seal a place in the semi-finals of the season-ending ATP Finals after the American defeated Alex de Minaur 5-7 6-4 6-3.

World No. 1 Sinner had already qualified for the semifinals thanks to Alex De Minaur winning the opening set in his defeat against Taylor Fritz earlier in the day.

On September 30, 2024, Medvedev won his most recent match, 6-2, 6-4, over Flavio Cobolli in the quarterfinals of the China Open. During the past two years, Sinner is 6-3 against Medvedev in their head-to-head matchups. Their last one happened at the US Open on September 4, 2024 and was won by Sinner 6-2, 1-6, 6-1, 6-4.
