INDEPENDENCE COUNTY, Ark. – Authorities in Independence County confirmed Monday that the pilot in a Sunday afternoon plane crash died.

The Independence County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the single-engine plane crashed Sunday in a wooded area about five miles north of Batesville, Arkansas.
