God of War Ragnarok‘s PC launch hasn’t been well-received, if player response on Steam is anything to go by. Not only is the game being review-bombed, thanks in no small part to its PSN integration requirement,

God of War Ragnarok hasn't had the biggest launch turnout on Steam, landing somewhere towards the middle in Sony's ever-growing catalogue of PS games on PC.

Although the creator, Nexus mods user iArtoriasUA, made the mod to strip "the PlayStation PC SDK runtime requirement for God of War Ragnarök " to avoid errors, players have used it to circumvent Sony's PSN policy. The installation is fairly easy; download the mod from Nexus, copy it into the game's folder, and play.

Ragnarok was the target of a review bombing effort back in 2022 as well.

The PC version of God of War Ragnarök releases on Thursday 19th September at 4pm (BST) / 11am (ET). It is available to download from Steam and the Epic Games Store, but you must link a PlayStation Network Account in order to play it. Now that the novelty of playing PlayStation exclusives on PC have worn off, Sony can expect future ports to perform similarly sales-wise.
