The trends on Gift Nifty also indicate a weak start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 23,620 level, a discount of nearly 38 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close.

India stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods, Healthcare and Public Sector Undertakings sectors led shares lower. At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 declined 0.
