This year's additions (eight albums and five singles) meet the main requirements – they exhibit "qualitative or historical significance" and are at least 25 years old.

Works from Fela Kuti & Afrika 70, Gloria Estefan & Miami Sound Machine, and Luther Vandross will also be included.
