Airport Fire initially started 1:21 p.m. Sep. 9 in Orange, Riverside County. After being active for 15 days, it has burned 23,526 acres. A crew of 461 firefighters has been working on site and, by Tuesday evening, they managed to contain 95% of the fire. The wildfire originated from equipment usage.

The Orange County Fire Authority said a cold front is expected to bring light showers and cooler temperatures.

Progress of the Airport Fire continues to slow Saturday morning as crews reach 9% containment of the 23,494-acre blaze.

Firefighters are making progress today battling the massive Airport Fire in Orange and Riverside counties, where 23,519 acres have been charred with containment at 31%. Cooler temperatures helped firefighters make progress on battling the blaze.

It has burned 39,232 acres after being active for 19 days. A crew of 1,572 firefighters has been working on site and they managed to contain 80% of the fire as of Tuesday evening.
