The Galatasaray striker, who missed the October international break, glanced home substitute Moses Simon's cross with around nine minutes of normal time remaining.

It was not pretty, but Nigeria's Super Eagles did just enough to eke out the point that cemented their place at the 2025 African Cup of Nations, drawing 1-1 with Benin on Thursday.

An 81st-minute equaliser from Victor Osimhen was all the Super Eagles needed to ensure they finish the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers as Group D winners. Benin scored the opener in the 16th minute by defender Mohamed Tijani.
