The two key equity benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty, on Wednesday rebounded sharply and pared their early morning losses. The two indices scaled their new highs before closing Wednesday’s trading session.

The 30-share BSE Sensex closed with gains of 255.83 points or 0.30 per cent at 85,169.87. The index hit a new all-time high of 85,247.42.

The Sensex surged to a record high, closing above 85,000, while the Nifty crossed the 26,000 mark, driven by gains in banking, IT, and auto sectors. Strong earnings and economic indicators fueled the rally.
