Senior officials of the administration of U.S. president Donald Trump said in a media briefing on Friday that they view bitcoin as deserving "special treatment" as the White House forges ahead with plans to create stockpiles of digital assets.

More than a stunt, the Fort Knox visit might be a chance for the President to change the price of gold and dump the price hike into cryptocurrency.

The U.S. president directed his administration to establish a bitcoin reserve to hold seized assets, and it's setting up a separate crypto stockpile.
