The Tampa Bay defenseman faces additional discipline after a hit on J.T. Compher that resulted in an interference penalty.
Detroit Red Wings left winger J.T. Compher is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, Red Wings head coach Todd McLellan confirmed to Max Bultman of The Athletic on Monday.
Raymond was doing fine before McLellan became Detroit Red Wings coach on Dec. 26. Since then, his game has reached another level. He has 23 points (seven goals, 16 assists) in 16 games under McLellan. He ranks second in the NHL in points during this time, one behind Boston’s David Pastrnak.
That concern is beginning to dissipate. Over the last nine games, Kasper has five goals (along with three assists), and playing on a line with Dylan Larkin and Lucas Raymond, the scoring chances are increasing, you can see the offensive attributes Kasper has, and there's simply more confidence in his game.

Red Wings rookie reaping net-front benefits
DETROIT – Coaches emphasize the importance of players going to the net but getting them there often is easier said than done. Not with Marco Kasper. The Detroit Red Wings rookie goes to the net and stays there. And he’s been getting rewarded for it.

Detroit — The feel-good story surrounding the Red Wings currently looks like it's going to stay around a bit longer. Dominik Shine, who made his NHL debut at age 31 in Monday's victory over Los Angeles, appears to be staying at least for the start of the Wings' upcoming four-game road trip Thursday in Edmonton.
A rebuild in the NHL can be a grueling process. With the patience needed to develop prospects, and decide whether to add or subtract to the team and what each offseason has to offer, there aren’t many situations for a team to be in that are more stressful than this.
