Luka Doncic's debut with the Los Angeles Lakers scored massive ratings for ESPN despite coming in a game that started at 10:30 p.m. ET and whose result was never in doubt. The network's audience for Monday night's game -- a 132-113 Lakers victory over the Utah Jazz -- peaked at 2.

Doncic played 24 minutes in a blowout win in his debut and 23 minutes Wednesday in a sluggish loss — both against the lowly Jazz. “Yes, he was completely out of shape, and you could see he was gassed early,” Ryen Russillo said on his podcast while speaking with ESPN’s Tim Legler, the analyst for Doncic’s Lakers debut Monday.

The NBA and its fans are still buzzing after the Lakers officially acquired Doncic on Feb. 2 in exchange for Anthony Davis.
