Stocks were solidly higher in mid-afternoon trading Friday, led by a rally in shares of large-cap technology companies, as the market rebounded from a sluggish start to 2025.

The Dow Jones and S&P 500 climbed but soon faded on the stock market today. Tesla fell after the company's Q4 deliveries disappointed.

Dow Jones Industrial Average futures rose 84 points, or 0.2%, to 42778. S&P 500 futures gained 16 points, or 0.3%, to 5933. Nasdaq-100 futures increased 81 points, or 0.4%, to 21249.

Some of the biggest winners were mega-cap tech stocks, with Tesla up by 6% while Broadcom, Netflix, and Amazon each gained about 2%.

Shares of the AI server maker were on track to notch a yearly gain of just 6% on Tuesday afternoon — far less than other AI-themed stocks that have thrived in the bull market in 2024. And despite turning positive for the year in December, Super Micro shares remained far below their highs near $120 in mid-March.

U.S. stock indexes are falling Thursday to start 2025. The S&P 500 was down 0.7% in afternoon trading after rising as much as 0.9% earlier. It's coming off a four-day losing streak, its longest since early September,
