24 years after Coldplay released “Yellow”, the smash-hit single from their multi-platinum debut album Parachutes, it has featured for the first time in the top songs 20 worldwide on Spotify.

Today, the song has been streamed on Spotify more than three billion times. But "Yellow" would never have come into being if Coldplay hadn't stepped outside of the studio for a break one night.

Spotify released its annual Wrapped report ... "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen, "Yellow" by Coldplay, "Smells Like Teen Spirit" Nirvana, and "Every Breath You Take" by The Police.
