In the film categories, Anora ultimately took home the award for original screenplay, beating out A Real Pain, Challengers, Civil War and My Old Ass. As for adapted screenplay, Nickel Boys won, beating A Complete Unknown, Dune: Part Two, Hit Man and Wicked .

Here are the winners of the 2025 Writers Guild Awards Awards, which were handed out February 15 in dual ceremonies in Hollywood and Manhattan.

HBO/Max led the night with six wins, led by the “Hacks” honors, as well as with “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver,” “The Great Lillian Hall” and “Nikki Glaser: Someday You’ll Die.” FX/Hulu was next, with three wins, all for “Shōgun.”
