The total lunar eclipse in Virgo is coming the night of Thursday, March 13, reaching totality at 11:54 p.m. PT and Friday, March 14 at 2:54 a.m. ET. Lunar eclipses take place when the sun, Earth and moon line up, and the Earth's shadow (or umbra) covers the moon. There are three types of lunar eclipses: Total, partial, and penumbral.
