At 77, Sammy Hagar has quit touring after the constant travel began to ‘hurt’ and left him questioning how long he could continue performing. The former Van Halen star covered the US, Canada, and Japan last year on his The Best Of All Worlds Tour but he won’t be venturing out again.

Hagar, 77, loves performing but no longer wants to tour. His nine-show run in Las Vegas may lead to further residencies He has just done a soundcheck before a set at a new Las Vegas rock club and is thinking about a nine-show spree this spring on the Las Vegas Strip.

Hagar traveled the United States last summer with the highly successful Van Halen-themed Best of All Worlds tour, but now says he wants to focus on residencies and one-off shows. He's bring a revamped version of the Best of All Worlds show to a nine-date Las Vegas residency that kicks off on April 30.

Hagar clarifies this does not mean he's retiring – but at 77, he prefers residencies over the stresses of touring

"I keep telling my manager, ‘Don't take any tours, let me do this residency,'" Hagar explains ahead of a series of Las Vegas shows in April and May.
