Police said a bicyclist was struck and killed at the Route 1 and Clinton Avenue intersection by an unmarked Norwalk police cruiser responding to a call.

MERIDEN, Conn. (WFSB) - State Police are responding to a crash in Meriden on Wednesday afternoon. According to Connecticut State Police, troopers are on scene for a motor vehicle collision on I-91 south near Exit 17. First responders are also assessing possible injuries that are unknown at this time. The public is asked to avoid the area.

NORWALK, Conn. — Police have identified a Norwalk man who died after being hit by an unmarked Norwalk police vehicle on Monday evening. Manuel Bonilla-Gomez, 68, of Norwalk was hit at the intersection of Connecticut Avenue and Clinton Avenue just after 6 p.m. as an unmarked Norwalk police vehicle was responding to a call for service, police said.
