A large wildfire in the South Carolina mountains has doubled in size on each of the last three days. But fire crews have been able to keep the blaze away from structures. Firefighters battling the Table Rock Mountain fire have concentrated on saving lives and property by digging fire breaks that push the blaze north through undeveloped land on the Pickens County ridges near the North Carolina state line,

Maryland shot 16 free throws in the first half and led South Carolina 32-31 at the break. The Terrapins only shot two free throws in the second half, and both came on a shooting foul in the third quarter. Maryland shot zero free throws in the fourth.

The Maryland women led defending champion South Carolina with less than three minutes left in the Sweet 16 but fall, 71-67, in the Birmingham 2 Region semifinals.
