Google Calendar has removed references to Black History Month, Pride Month, saying the manual additions were not sustainable.

The company says that as of 2024, it began listing only public holidays and national observances, not cultural and historical events.

Google has opted out of references to Black History Month in a recent move away from cultural holidays and observances. Feb. 1 is considered the start of Black History Month, but will no longer be displayed on Google Calendar along with Women’s History Month on Mar.
