HEG Ltd shares surged 10% after announcing a 1:5 stock split. The record date for the split is October 18. A 1:5 split means shareholders will receive five shares for every one they currently own.

HEG shares gained 10.14% to Rs 2544 on Wednesday against the previous close of Rs 2309.75 in the previous session. Market cap of the firm climbed to Rs 9679 crore on BSE.

HEG Limited shares rose close to 10 percent in the morning trade on September 25 after the company said it fixed October 18 as the record date for determining entitlement of shareholders for a stock split.
