Oscar nominations, other awards season events and several LA-based shows have been affected by the California fires.

The organization that puts on the Oscars has extended the voting window for Academy Awards nominations and delayed next week’s planned nominations announcement.

The Los Angeles Film Critics Association announced over Bluesky that its awards banquet, initially scheduled for Saturday, January 11, at the Biltmore Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles, is postponed.

Due to the devastating Los Angeles wildfires, the Academy is pushing back the announcement of 2025 Oscars nominations and extending the voting window to pick the nominees.

The organization said in a statement Thursday morning, “Due to LA County wildfires, the Producers Guild of America will be extending the voting window for the PGA Awards by two days until Saturday, January 11 to allow members additional time to cast their ballots. The official PGA Awards nominations will now be announced on Sunday, January 12.”

As the destructive wildfires in Los Angeles continue to rage, the Producers Guild of America announced on Thursday that its annual awards nominations will be delayed to Sunday, Jan. 12. The PGA Awards nominations announcement was initially scheduled for Friday.

The delay comes as the Writers Guild of America and Oscars also delay voting and the announcement of their nominees.
