EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Michigan State Spartans moved to 8-0 in conference play with an 81-74 win over Rutgers University in New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Saturday. Head basketball coach Tom Izzo spoke with the media about the win over the Scarlet Knights.

Michigan State was led offensively by Jase Richardson, who finished the game with 20 points off the bench. Coen Carr (14 points) and Jaden Akins (12 points) also reached double-digits in points in the win. With the win, Michigan State improves to 17-2 overall and 8-0 in Big Ten play. The Spartans have now won 12 straight games.
