The Tampa Bay Rays are hopeful that Tropicana Field will be ready by opening day of the 2026 season, but St. Petersburg city officials recently informed the team that the city does not have a strict deadline to complete the repairs caused by Hurricane Milton.
Out-of-order Tropicana Field displaces St. Petersburg events beyond Rays
The Tampa Bay Rays aren’t the only ones unable to use Tropicana Field in 2025. In addition to baseball games, the Trop also hosts home and boat shows, gymnastics meets and other events that drive tourism in the off-season.
