Cabara, the St. Louis Zoo’s last lion, dies at 19
Ingozi (left) and Cabara, African lions at the St. Louis Zoo in 2016. ST. LOUIS — Cabara, the St. Louis Zoo's only remaining African lion, has died. Zoo officials announced that the 19-year-old was euthanized Tuesday after suffering from advanced liver disease.
Cabara was preceded in death by her longtime mate Ingozi, with whom she raised several litters of cubs over the years.
