The City Council rescinded a request to repeal the city's landmark ADU bonus program, but pledged to work with Mayor Todd Gloria to limit where it applies.

The San Diego City Council voted on Tuesday to begin rolling back a landmark housing program that let single-family homeowners build more accessory dwelling units (ADU) on their property if they reserve units for low to moderate-income households.

In all, the proposed increases, most of which are about 20%, are estimated to generate $21.2M in additional revenue ($18.5M of which will go into the general fund).
