The latest NBA power rankings have the Cleveland Cavaliers returning to the top spot after beating previous No. 1 Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are the best team in all of basketball. As such, it only made sense that they got that recognition. However, it seems that they had to defeat the Oklahoma City Thunder in a nationally televised game to finally receive the praise they deserved.

The Oklahoma City Thunder head to Wells Fargo Center to face the Philadelphia 76ers in a non-conference matchup. The Thunder are 32-6, which puts them at the top of the Western Conference, with the second best record in all of the NBA. The Sixers are 15-22, which puts them in 11th place in the Eastern Conference.

While the Philadelphia 76ers planned to be shorthanded against the Oklahoma City Thunder as early as Monday night, the team didn’t anticipate so many absences when they initially submitted their injury report.

Ahead of the Philadelphia 76ers’ home matchup with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Tyrese Maxey and Paul George have been added to the injury report. The beginning of the Sixers’ difficult back-to-back has become even more of a challenge.
