Thousands had gathered to pay final respects to Vasudevan Nair on Thursday. Mourners from across the state flocked to his residence in Kozhikode to bid a tearful goodbye to the legendary storyteller who touched generations with his words.

People from all walks of life, including fans and prominent political figures, gathered in large numbers to pay their last respects to Vasudevan Nair. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also paid tribute to Vasudevan Nair. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his grief over the passing of the celebrated Malayalam writer.

His stories never challenged the reader’s intelligence, but he did not ridicule writers who created such works. ‘Kaathikente Panippura’ and ‘Kaathikente Kala’ by MT were textbooks for young short-story writers.
