Two men remain in critical condition following a home explosion Friday in Langley, B.C. One woman is still missing, and RCMP cannot confirm if she was in the home at the time.

RCMP say investigators have determined a house fire that closed off a neighbourhood in Langley, B.C., was caused by an explosion.

Two people are in critical condition and several residences were evacuated after an explosion and fire at a house on Friday in the Township of Langley. The blaze broke out shortly before 11 a.m. in the 7300-block of 196th Street and quickly spread to neighbouring houses.

"At approximately 10:40 a.m. Langley RCMP received a report of a possible explosion and fire at a residence located in the 7300-block of 196 Street," said Langley RCMP Sgt. Zynal Sharoom. First responders from Langley Fire, Emergency Health Services and Langley RCMP responded. Residences in the surrounding area have been evacuated.
