The Australian Reptile Park's spider keeper says she named the spider Hemsworth because the arachnid towers over other spiders, like the Hemsworth brothers

A ginormous and deadly funnel-web spider has been handed in to a reptile park in Australia, where staff said it was the largest of its kind they’d ever seen.

A record-breaking funnel-web spider has been named after the Hemsworth brothers in a bizarre tribute by the Australian Reptile Park.

Australia already boasts a few famous Hemsworth’s, now it has another one. This Hemsworth is not an actor but a funnel-web spider, the largest ever recorded. Spider keeper Emma Teni has all the arachnid facts about the big guy.
