Space.com on MSNSpaceX gets FAA approval for Flight 9 of Starship megarocket"The Aircraft Hazard Area (AHA) for Flight 9 covers approximately 1,600 nautical miles and extends eastward from the Starbase, Texas, launch site through the Straits of Florida, including the Bahamas and Turks & Caicos Islands," FAA officials wrote in today's update.
The debris fell into the Indian Ocean away from inhabited areas. SpaceX was unable to conduct several tests it had planned during the flight, such as deploying simulators of the next-generation Starlink satellites and assessing improvements to the vehicle's heat shield.
The Federal ... SpaceX previously attributed the disassembly of the spacecraft to the loss of several Raptor engines, which caused the megarocket to lose altitude less than 10 minutes into launch.
"SpaceX may not launch until the FAA either closes the Starship Flight 8 mishap investigation or makes a return-to-flight determination."
